PLC Technician Program
The PLC Technician training program introduces the concepts of PLCs and explains how they can be used in a plant or manufacturing system. This training "tutor" is designed for first time users to make a safe and quick start in getting to know the fundamentals of PLC programming.
Our entire online PLC program is based on practical applications and experience in using programmable controllers in the workplace. A student who has completed the PLC training will be able to use programmable logic controllers to solve machine and process problems. A systems approach to PLC programming training is used because the programmable logic controller is one major component of larger manufacturing systems. The PLC Technician program uses a combination of hands-on exercises, practical applications, and case studies.
The CD-based multimedia program presents nineteen modules of interactive curriculum using text, video, 2D and 3D animations, photos, audio clips and interactive PLC simulations. Pre-tests, interactive exercises, sample exams, and online support prepare you for computer-based final exams. The average completion time of the nineteen training modules is thirty-two weeks of part-time study.
- CD-ROM based curriculum
- PLC laboratory simulation software
- Web based supplemental resources
- Tutorial and Technical Support
- PLC textbook (available at an additional charge)
The interactive PLC simulation software essentially converts your computer into a PLC and allows you to run, verify, and de-bug ladder logic programs. The simulation software provides students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with many different features associated with Allen-Bradley PLCs including, timers, counters, sequencers, math functions, etc. The PLC simulation software lets you design ladder logic programs, perform tests, and simulate the operation of real-world components including motors, solenoid valves and a wide variety of other discrete and analog I/O devices.
